Product Description
Epifanes Classic Teak Stain and Varnish Tint Additive, 500ml (CTS.500) is a quick‑drying, impregnating wood stain that provides a warm, rich golden teak color on bare wood. It is ideal for restoring faded timber, evening out patchy coloration, and enhancing the natural beauty of fine marine hardwoods.
Designed for both interior and exterior use above the waterline, Classic Teak Stain penetrates deeply into the wood grain, delivering uniform coloration without obscuring texture. It is excellent for preparing wood prior to applying Epifanes one‑ or two‑component varnishes.
Depending on the desired color depth, up to 3 coats may be applied. Each coat will continue to darken the wood. Recoatable after only 2 hours at 65°F.
Classic Teak Stain may also be added (maximum 10%) to Epifanes clear varnishes or epoxy resin to create a lightly tinted finish that camouflages color differences in existing systems.
Available in a 500ml container. Download the technical data sheet here.

SMSDistributors Expert Notes
- Classic Teak Stain is the best choice for achieving a warm, golden teak tone. It enhances natural grain while maintaining clarity and depth without creating a heavy or muddy appearance.
- Fast drying makes multi‑coat color building easy. With a 2‑hour recoat time at 65°F, you can apply up to three coats in a single day to achieve deeper coloration.
- Excellent compatibility with Epifanes varnish systems. Works seamlessly under Clear Gloss, Woodfinish Gloss/Matte, Rubbed Effect, Rapidclear, Rapidcoat, and Poly‑urethane systems.

- Ready for use — do not thin. The formula is optimized for maximum penetration and color saturation straight from the can.
