Norton BlueFire R822 ZA Flap Disc, 4‑1/2" x 7/8", Type 27 (Flat), Fiberglass Backing is a high‑performance zirconia alumina flap disc engineered for fast stock removal, weld blending, deburring, and coarse surface preparation on stainless steel, carbon steel, aluminum, and other metals.

Featuring Norton’s premium Zirconia Alumina Plus grain, the R822 delivers aggressive cutting action and up to 30% longer life compared to standard zirconia flap discs. The jumbo semi‑open flaps minimize loading on soft metals and provide smoother operation, while the fiberglass/resin backing plate absorbs vibration for improved operator comfort.

Type 27 flat flap discs are designed for grinding at a 0°–15° angle, making them ideal for blending, smoothing, and controlled stock removal.
