The RUPES 6" (160mm) D-A Precision Pro Coarse Wool Polishing Pad (9.NW160H) is engineered for maximum cutting performance on dual-action polishers. Featuring a dual-density wool surface made from two distinct fiber lengths, this pad delivers aggressive defect removal while maintaining a surprisingly refined finish compared to traditional single-density wool pads.

Designed for use on random orbital and gear-driven polishers, the 9.NW160H pad is ideal for technicians who need fast correction of severe paint defects, oxidation, sanding marks, and heavy swirls.

This pad supersedes the discontinued RUPES 9.BW180H coarse wool pad, offering improved performance, durability, and balance.

Tips for Success

  • Use genuine RUPES pads for optimal vibration control and tool balance.
  • Prime the pad properly before first use:
    • Foam pads: apply compound in an “X” pattern and run the tool at low speed for 20 seconds.
    • Wool & microfiber pads: apply a thin spiral of compound and run at low speed for 20 seconds.
  • Reload with small amounts of compound — avoid oversaturation to maintain cutting performance.
  • Clean pads frequently during use with compressed air, vacuum, or the RUPES Claw Pad Tool.
  • After use: wash with warm water and mild soap, rinse thoroughly, and air dry.
  • Avoid solvent-based cleaners to prevent damage to pad fibers and foam structure.
  • Use at least two pads per vehicle, rotating (cycling) about every 10 minutes for consistent performance.
